Antique Elephant Skin Gentlemans Dressing Case With Fitted Toiletry Items 1909.

I believe this to be elephant hide, although I have had it suggested it may be rhinoceros. The interior is fitted out by USA company Gorham Manufacturing Co. Providence Rhode Island. There is no indication on whom made the case. All pieces are USA sterling silver marked between 1909-1913. The shaving brush seems later. All stamped with owners initials L. K. Interior is complete other than a small compartment which is empty. See photo 21. Comb is tortoise shell. All glass and mirror are in tact with no chips or damage. There is an area of staining to leather on corner base. See photo. Looks like it got damp at some point. Comes complete with key and storm cover.
