Antique Imperial Russian Orthodox icon, depicting "Jesus Pantocrator", in classic pose, holding the New Testament with right hand held up in benediction, hand painted, with believed to be traditional 84 silver riza or oklad covering the painting, cut out to show head and hands, parts are done in vermeil (gold plated), the back of the icon is covered in old peach velvet, hallmarked on the bottom of the riza, 2 Cyrillic letters in a cartouche, either the maker's mark or the assayer's mark, another cartouche has 84 and the city mark which is hard to read but looks like Moscow, condition: the riza is tarnished, with some dark spotting, the painting has some crazing to the surface.
