A very nice 1897 Morgan Dollar graded Proof 60 by PCGS and housed in an Old Green Holder.

I generally shy away from either Proof 60 or MS 60 type coins, however this coin is exceptionally nice for the grade PCGS assigned years ago.

With only 731 proof dollars struck in 1897, this coin has excellent mirrored surfaces on both the obverse and reverse with no problems or haze as usually encountered on a Proof 60 coin. Light obverse hairlines are most likely the grade limiting factor on this coin. Still very choice for the grade. Compare to any 60 or 61 coins and i think you'll agree.

Strong strike and a definite candidate for a potential upgrade.
