A Little Bit About J/Jay Glass Paperweights...

The quality of J/Jay Glass paperweights was outstanding and these paperweights are highly sought after by collectors today

John Deacons stands in a long tradition of paperweight making having first began with Strathearn in the mid 1960s, before being persuaded in 1968 to leave Strathearn and instead work with Stuart Drysdale at the Perthshire Paperweight factory

Whilst working for the Perthshire Paperweight factory John Deacons was invloved in every stage of setting up of the factory and became their leading paperweight maker

However in 1978 John Deacons left Perthshire Paperweights to form his own Paerweight company J/Jay Glass

Deacons was greatly influenced by Salvador Ysart and his four sons

He continues today the tradition of Ysart and Millefiori lampwork paperweights
