A rare Masons Ironstone pottery spill vase, c. 1820. The tall hexagonal shaped spill vase, vibrantly painted in Japanese Imari style, with a shaped panel containing a jardiniere of flowering plants, on a garden terrace. The reverse with a smaller panel of flowering plants. All upon a an underglaze cobalt blue ground, decorated with dense gilt scrollwork, and stylised flower heads.
Set upon three gilt scroll feet, and having a circular base.

Printed factory mark to the underside of the base.

Height – 15.5 cm, 6 1/8”.

Diameter – 6 cm, 2 3/8”.

Condition – Typical age related wear to the gilding. No damage. No restoration.
