I bought these earrings a long time ago but never used them. I don't see any defects. The golden colour disappearing here and there was probably an intended effect, because it was like that from the beginning. The earrings were stylized to look old. 

The colour changes depending on the light, but the original red is darker and more vibrant than in the photos.
