Listing is for a Corgi Skirmish CC60416 US M16 Quad .50 Caliber Halftrack & 3 US Infantry, Southern France, 1944, 1:50 scale.  M16 half-track was standard US Army Quad .50 caliber antiaircraft vehicle used following Normandy invasion with every armored division having an AAA Weapons Company with eight M16s.  Often M16s were used to protect key sites dumps from enemy air attack.  By end of war general absence of Luftwaffe meant that M16s were used in a ground support role.  Nicknamed “meat chopper,” M16 was famous for its effectiveness against low-flying aircraft and infantry, making it extremely popular with soldiers.  2,877 M16 Quad .50 Caliber Halftrack were produced.  M16 saw service with US Army in WWII in northern Europe and in Korean War.  This 1:50 scale replica of a US M16 Quad .50 caliber Half-track with 3 US Infantry participated in Operation Dragoon, invasion of southern France, during August 1944.  Corgi Skirmish comes with 3 hand-painted highly detailed Corgi “Forward March” spin-cast diecast metal WWII lifelike poses US Infantry in a 1:50 scale.  M16 Quad .50 Caliber Halftrack model dimensions are 5 inches length and 2 inches width, and it has a brown camouflage color.
