Four different pairs of 50-foot plug-door boxcar sides printed on 8 cardstock sides full color, a pair of each. These were authorized by DC Comics in 1977 using the "traditional" images of four of their popular superheroes. Today, Batman has become the brooding Dark Knight, Superman has changed, and new movies reimagining Wonder Woman and Shazam are said to be in the works. So here they are as they looked in the 1960s & 1970s.

  • Batman on yellow car

  • Superman on white car

  • Wonder Woman on yellow-orange car

  • Shazam! on blue car

You can use 50- foot car kits or build your own from balsa, pie or basswood. Or buy old boxcars on Ebay and glue these sides onto the sides, or even build your own on boxcar frames that come up for sale from time to time on Ebay with trucks and couplers already attached. Ordinary Elmer white glue or Testers wood cement should work just fine and give you plenty of time to position each side just right, these are not stickers. You could even buy plastic boxcar or reefer doors from another Ebay vender and glue them to the center for more of a 3-d look, and/or attach metal-type scale ladders to the side.

These would fit right in with any late steam or diesel-era layout. If you don't like it, send it back for a refund, no time limit
