Hi, I am selling my 2003 Toyota MR2. It was originally purchased 3 months ago as a little project to get sorted for the summer time but i only ended up fixing the mechanical parts and didn't get around to the aesthetics/small welding job and i will now struggle to sort these bits in my spare time before the MOT is due. In my short ownership i have sorted the mechanical parts that the car needed. The car is due MOT on 26/07/24 and will require welding to the drivers side rear inner sill/reinforcement to pass an MOT, a plate will need to be welded on, around an 8 inch by 6 inch plate would do it. I last checked this vehicle over a few months ago and that section was by far the worst bit under the car and the only bit i could knock through with a small hammer. The car drives absolutely brilliantly, it's great fun, mechanically the car is spot on, non of the oil burning issues or pre-cat issues that the preface lift cars suffered with. No suspension noises/knocks/bangs.

Good points:
The bad points:
  • Welding to O/S inner sill/reinforcement required to pass MOT, I suspect this would cost £200-300 to get repaired.
  • Both rear quarters rusty on the bottom corners closest to the wheels, this is purely aesthetic and will pass an MOT with them not repaired. replacements are supplied with the car but the o/s one will require some work/dent removal to make it good, they are both in the same silver as the car. The n/s/r quarter cost me £175 and should be in useable condition, i haven't opened the box since i got it.
  • Clutch pedal mechanism has a slight creak - really not bad but I thought it's worth a mention, the creak is at the pedal end, not at the gearbox.
  • The body work isn't terrible but it does have dents and scratches here and there
Message me on whatsapp and i'll send a walkaround video and more pictures of the car - 07858956392

Viewing is welcome, I am not looking to accept any offers, i'd rather see the auction run its course and it will go for what it goes for, the car owes me over £2400 and i know that i won't get that back.
