This auction is for two (2) Variant Covers associated with the Hulk titles that were released by Marvel Comics in 2009. The first is the John Romita Jr. Variant Cover to Hulk #13 that is a 1 in 20 Retailer Incentive and extremely hard to find. This Ultra Rare Variant plays homage to the classic scene from Amazing Spider-Man #50 where Peter Parker abandons the Spider-Man costume, only this cover has Bruce Banner leaving his purple pants. It is written by Jeph Loeb with interior art by Ed McGuinness and takes place after Incredible Hulk #600 where Bruce Banner loses his ability to transform into the Hulk. This leads Norman Osborn to send Ares to see what's going on and a battle between Ares and A-Bomb Rick Jones and tons of guest appearances by members of the Fantastic Four, New Avengers and Mighty Avengers. This issue also has a humorous mini-strip starring Hulk, Red Hulk and Blue Hulk and is written by Jeph Loeb's daughter, Audrey with art by Chris Giarrusso. I am also including Incredible Hulk #601 that comes with the Ed McGuinness Variant Cover that has Skaar looking very menacing on the cover. It is also a 1 in 20 Retailer Incentive making it amazingly hard to find. This issue comes with two (2) stories with the first one being written by Greg Pak with art by Ariel Olivetti and has Bruce Banner facing off with his son, Skaar, only without the strength of the Hulk. The second story is written by Fred Van Lente with art by Michael Ryan and focuses on Lyra, the daughter of the Hulk and Thundra, and her search for her only friend, She-Hulk. This issue has a crease on the upper left corner of the back cover that I have shown in a close-up picture but the cover is in excellent condition. Please check out my other auctions as I am clearing out my collection and will combine shipping. Thanks for looking.
