Vintage Royce New Old Stock Watch with new ETA 2824-2 Automatic Movement
The watch is in full working order and keeping accurate time. It is in new old stock condition so there maybe very slight marks from storage over the years but overall in excellent condition (please see the photos and video). The watches case design is similar to that of a Rolex Oyster case of the same period and also has a screw in crown.
My guess is that the watch case and dial most likely dates from the late 1960s to early 1970s as the caseback makes reference to the term waterproof which was phased out and replaced with water resistant after this period. The automatic movement inside is a more modern new ETA 2824-2 and is regarded as an industry workhouse for its robustness and accuracy. A new ETA 2824-2 movement alone is nearly £200.
