There is a lot of wear and discoloration throughout the covers and spine and there are lots of abrasions, bumping and some loss to the edges and corners of the covers and spine cover. The leaves have a lot of wear from age and discoloration on the edges. The binding is in good shape. There are 3 bookplates of ownership on the back of the front cover and there is writing on the first two leaves from previous owners. There is some wear to the gilt decoration on the front and back covers. Overall the book still displays nicely.
