Here we have an original Bendix AM-FM stereo radio that was removed from a 1968 Mercury Monterey. It is also correct for other 68 full size Mercury models including Parklane, Montclair, Marquis or Colony Park. The Bendix number stamped on the side is F8TBM. I recently bench tested it and determined it to be functional. It receives stations across the FM and AM bands (see video) however the stereo indicator light does not illuminate. It comes complete with it's original inner and outer tuning knobs in excellent condition. It has an excellent cosmetic appearance suitable for a show car.

To clear up any confusion many Ford AM FM radios from the mid 60’s thru late 70’s will fit the opening of your 1968 full size Mercury however this is the correct one that would have come from the factory (see part number).   If you show your car this is the AM FM radio you need to install to be Concours correct.

Although this radio is functional, it has not been serviced recently so I will have to sell it 'as is' and advise it be professionally inspected to restore the sound quality and reception capability up to original factory specs or these can also be totally converted to modern day specs and features for the discriminating buyer that wants the original radio look combined with up-to-date sound and options.
