I am selling a rare piece of M39 optics - the Sonnar 58mm f/1.5 lens. I was able to find very little information about this lens online - here is a short quote from a forum:

“As far as I know, nobody exactly knows where and by whom these lenses were made.

Some members of the very serious "Zeiss Society" think they were made after the war, perhaps from Zeiss parts. But it's sure that they don't belong to the official Zeiss production.

No real explanation about the serial numbers (1407xxx)which cannot be related with the other "legal" Sonnars.”

The lens has been serviced about a year ago by a trained professional technician. The focusing and aperture rings are smooth, the aperture blades have a little discolouration, but are oil-free. It has external signs of use (scratches, and a dent in the filter thread), as well as some dust specs inside the optics. There are also a couple of air bubbles in the glass elements.

Please contact me in case you have any other question. The lens will be shipped to the EU - tracked and insured.
