Vintage VAN CORT Instruments ZOETROPE Classic Animation Viewer with Comic Strips
A vintage Zoetrope made by Van Cort Instruments, complete with a series of comic strips.
It measures roughly 18cm high x 13.5cm wide.
In good, used condition, the wooden base has a few might marks.
This is a reproduction of a Victorian Zoetrope which consists of a solid wood & brass pedestal which is attached to a slotted drum and 7 different animated image strips.
The strips have figures drawn on them in various stages of movement and when one is placed at the bottom of the drum and the drum is spun the figures appear to move when viewed through the drum slots.
