You are looking at an antique Buddy L Mine Train Engine in a completely rusty condition.  The frame is 8” long with the front and rear couplers each extending 3/4” beyond.  The height of the cab is 5 1/4” from the bottom of the frame to the top of the curved roof.  The tractor weighs 24 ounces. It appears that the 2 wheels and axles are from a donor vehicle as they are not original to the piece. These axles can be removed by simply pulling them out. The louvres on the hood are straight.  Inside the engine room is some gravel or flakey rust that rattles when the engine is tipped over.  Inside the cab is a driver’s seat with a center hole, possibly for an attached, missing “driver.”  On the frame, under the cab, there appear to be the remains of black or dark green paint.

Please look at all the photos for details of this unusual piece of industrial history. Makes a great shelf piece!
