"Map of the North Riding of Yorkshire."
A large folding map of the entire Riding, at a scale of 2 miles to 1 inch. Showing roads, railways, rivers, bridges, and council boundaries.

The map published by John Bartholomew & Co., their imprint bottom right. Also the imprint bottom left "Walker Stead M.I.C.E., County Surveyors Office, Northallerton. 1897." M.I.C.E. stands for 'Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers.'

A scarce Victorian folding map of the whole of the North Riding. Interesting railway detail (Hawes, etc.) showing the Dales railway that was closed in 1959.

Size: unfolded, the map measures approx. 118cms x 71cms. Folded, 24cms x 15cms.
Condition: Covers a little worn. Map with no tears, but water stains top right, and ink blobs top left (see photos). Some annotations, mainly crosses on the map marking significant places. But overall, not in a bad condition. Please study the photographs.

Postage: £3.75 within the UK. £12.00 to Europe, £18.00 to USA etc.
