This listing is for a launch model Playstation 3 20GB NTSC-J(Japanese) CECHB00. This particular example was manufactured in Japan, in August 2006. These launch units that were manufactured in Japan(by Sony themselves) are considerably rarer than the ones that were outsourced and manufactured in China, which are the majority of early Playstation 3 consoles. This particular example was originally purchased in Japan, on the 19th of December, 2006. The console and its outer box have matching serial numbers. It also retains its original 20GB hard drive.

***** The 20GB model has actual built-in Playstation 2 hardware, but will only play NTSC-J(Japanese) region Playstation 2 discs. It will also only play NTSC-J region Playstation 1 discs. It will however, play Playstation 3 discs from all regions, as all Playstation 3 consoles are region free. This model does not have a WiFi antenna, so can only access the internet via an Ethernet cable(one is included). Note, on Japanese Playstation consoles, the ''O'' button is to confirm or proceed, while the ''X'' button is to deny or go backwards.*****

(1) The outer box is in excellent cosmetic and structural condition. **Collectors Note: There is a vertical crease on the front of the box that extends to the top flap(See 2nd picture), but this appears to have been a manufacturing defect. The colours are deep and glossy, with no sunfading. All corners have retained their structure. The flaps are crisp and firm. All cardboard inserts are present and all in good condition. There is some paint loss to the box in places, but overall, it is in superb collectors condition.

(2) The console has been well looked after. It is running on genuine firmware, Version 4.53. Its warranty label is present and has never been removed or tampered with. The console has never been opened or reconditioned. While there are a few cosmetic marks to its casing, it is in overall excellent cosmetic condition. It was used carefully, with proper ventilation and was stored far from dust. This is evident by the lack of accumulated dust in the vents, and by how quite the fan is whilst the console is in operation. The console also doesn't have the usual scratch marks on the reverse connector ports. It is very difficult to find one of these models in this condition. Please study the pictures thoroughly, keeping in mind that this is a used item.

(3) The Japanese Sixaxis wireless controller is in very good, used condition. It is a genuine Sony OEM product. It has the odd mark to its casing. **Collectors Note: The controller is, ''Made in China''.

(4) The controllers USB charging cable is in perfect working order and is in good used condition.

(5) There are a few tears to the consoles protective paper wrapping.

(6) The AV cable is unopened.

(7) The manual and other leaflets are also unopened.

(8) These launch units did not come with a HDMI cable in the box. A Sony branded HDMI cable is included in this lot.

(9) The original Japanese power cable is in very good condition. All Playstation 3 consoles have a universal power supply, so no need for a step-down power converter. A generic power cable with a 3-pin plug for UK and Irish households is included in this lot.

(10) The original Ethernet cable is missing, but included is a brand new, unopened CAT5e High-Speed Ethernet cable.

(11) These console's never came sealed, so the store where this was originally purchased, inserted a loose leaflet in the box advertising PlayStation 3 accessories that they sold.

* I wore plastic gloves while handling the console and accessories, so as not to get fingerprints on them.
