Brand new, unused. Although it is unopened, please only purchase if you understand that it has been in someone's hands at some point.
We also ask that you have an understanding of leather and brass products.
Chichu Art Museum was established in 2004 on the island of Naoshima in the Seto Inland Sea as a place to contemplate nature and humans.
This collaboration was made possible with the hope that visitors to the Chichu Art Museum would pick up a notebook as a tool for introspection, to record the experiences they have gained from viewing the artworks, and the thoughts that have swirled around in their minds.
The Traveler's Notebook has a black leather cover with the Chichu Art Museum logo, designed by Sobue Shin, engraved on it. The refills inside have a simple grey cover with the names and logo of Claude Monet, James Turrell, Walter de Maria, and Tadao Ando printed simply in letterpress. Furthermore, the front page features a blank map of Naoshima, Teshima, and Inujima, where Benesse Art Site Naoshima is located. The inside pages are made of white MiniDisc paper. The other refill has an impressive photograph of the entrance to the Chichu Art Museum by photographer Hamada Hideaki printed on the cover. The inside pages of this refill are made of cream MiniDisc paper.
The brass charm features a motif of the Chichu Art Museum as seen from above, engraved on a solid brass plate. Both charms change and become more tasteful the more they are used.
This item is only available for purchase at the museum shop after you take the ferry to Naoshima and enter the Chichu Art Museum. There is a limited number available, so it is difficult to obtain.
