Vintage 1978 Framed Original Watercolor by Thomas Haverfield (1939)

This beautiful watercolor painting by Thomas Haverfield captures the beauty and nostalgia of the rural midwest farm in this painting of a serene Ashtabula barn. The painting was produced in 1978. It comes matted and framed and is signed by the artist including the title and date written on the back of the painting.


Thomas Haverfield was born in Toledo, Ohio. He began painting at the age of twelve by taking classes at the Toledo Art School and Museum. By the time he graduated from high school he had 5 watercolor awards, 4 were from adult exhibitions. He attended Bowling Green State University and during this time he took top honors 3 years in a row at their Spring Show. By the age of 20 he did a series of five TV shows on “How to Paint”. Haverfield also played semi-professional ice hockey. 


Haverfield’s life has been art and still is. His watercolor classes in Florida are well attended. Haverfield says he is as busy in retirement as when he worked. He averages about 60 speeches a year to art, church and other groups and teaches at the Art Club in Sun City Center.

Condition: The painting has excellent color and shows no obvious signs of fading or discoloration. The solid wood frame is clean with consistent color and very light signs of age and wear including some dings and scratches.
