ANTIQUE MIGNONETTE ORIGINAL Glass Eyes GERMAN 

DOLLHOUSE 3 3/4" ALL BISQUE DOLL

A very cute, antique, all bisque doll that is not marked as to the maker, but was made in either Germany or France, circa 1900.  This doll measures approximately 3 3/4" tall and has a dark brown (looks original) wig, brown glass stationary eyes, a closed mouth and is wire jointed at the shoulders & hips.  He has painted black, two strap, shoes with white painted socks trimmed in blue.   He is wearing knickers with a matching jacket that is trimmed in red threads and red buttons (All the clothes, except maybe the hat, do look original to him).  His suit was sewn on him and so was his red beret or hat (sewn to his hair).  I had to undo only a few of the stitches to take his clothes off and to photograph his body...I put a few stitches back in to hold the clothes on him. This delightful doll is in very good condition with no chips or cracks to the bisque (if there is, it would be just a little flaking around the wire joints...I forgot to check there before I stitched his clothes back on...but I don't think there are any).  There is some blotchiness to his complexion and manufacturing flaws (mainly his left nostril is painted in the wrong place, see photos).  Everything else is fine with only the normal minor scruffs to the paint and (the usual) manufacturing flaws. This is a sweet little mignonette boy doll!  He displays nicely and will compliment a dollhouse or any collection! Being offered at a low starting bid and with no reserve.
