It's a traditional 100% cotton hand towel made in Japan. The more you use it, the softer the fabric becomes. It's thin, so it doesn't take up much space even when folded, and it dries quickly, so it's hygienic to use. The top and bottom are cut off, so it will fray when you first start using it, but it will gradually settle down.
