CONDITION:  It has a restoration to the handle that is crumbling and to the spout.  It was cherished and protected and possibly sentimental.

This cream pitcher was produced in Sunderland, England around 1815.  It has an “X” mark on the bottom.  The pitcher is 4 3/4 inches at the top of the handle and 5 inches from the spout to the tip of the handle.  The decoration is  pink and purple luster with a black transfer design.  There is a mansion in the background, figures of ladies and urns filled with flowers.  This little pitcher is packed with detail.  The spout is a mask, the detailed transfer decoration and the decoration even inside the rim of the pitcher.  This piece was special enough that it was restored in two places.  It meant something to someone a long time ago.  It is an usual example of pink Sunderland and an amazing little piece.  #E652
