This stunning example of Ginbari Cloisonne is from a deceased estate of an antique collector. It has amazing colours and really draws your attention to it. It's just beautiful!

The vase is approx. 15.5cm tall.

The base is signed by well known Meiji Era artist Ota Toshiro (see below for more info on the artist). The vase has a light blue base and depicts flowering wisteria in white and purple. The colours are so vibrant and the detail of the work is just mesmerizing. Amazing how the artist has given this piece a life of it's own!!

Who was Ota Toshiro?

Ota Toshiro was a Japanese artist who was born in 1869. Ota Toshiro's work has been offered at auction multiple times, with realized prices ranging from 600 USD to 6,375 USD, depending on the size and medium of the artwork. Since 2022 the record price for his work at auction is 6,375 USD for A pair of ginbari cloisonné-enamel vases Taisho era (1912-1926), circa 1920, sold at Bonhams New York in 2022. The artist died in 1940 and his work continues to increase in popularity and value.
