PENN #9500 PUSH BUTTON BRASS ENTRY MORTISE LOCK w/KEYS 7 3/4" FACEPLATE (15262)

NOTE:  PENN MADE THE #9300 WITH AND WITHOUT A BUILT IN DEADBOLT.  THIS VERSION OF THE #9300 DOES HAVE THE DEADBOLT. IF YOU NEED THE OTHER VERSION, CHECK OUR OTHER AUCTIONS or ASK US AS WE MAY HAVE ONE IN STOCK.

Vintage:  Extremely well made, very nice brass mortise lock with a push button lock, maker is PENN HARDWARE and 9300 can be found in the casting inside the lock. PENN built this version of the 9300 with a deadbolt, it was featured in their 1927 catalog (see pic).

Circa 1910-1920.

FACEPLATE: Heavy nickle plated face plate measures 7 3/4" by 1" wide.  3/16" brass. 

BOX:  Box is 3 1/2" deep from the back of the front plate and it is 5 1/2" top to bottom. 

SCREWS: Screws are on 7" centers.

BACKSET: The backset (the distance from the front edge of the brass faceplate to the center of the knob post hole) is 2 1/2". 

DROP:  The drop (the distance from the center of cylinder lock opening down to the center of the knob post hole) is 3 3/8".

KNOB POST: This lock utilizes a 5/16" split pivot knob post on each side of the lock. 

LOCK CYLINDER:  we have installed a new brass Superior lock cylinder with two keys.

IT IS REVERSIBLE.

If you are replacing an existing lock of these exact dimensions, you may already have everything you need. 

However, if you need a knob post we can supply one for this lock for an additional cost, just let us know before you end the auction and we can add it to the write up and cost.  

Very clean inside and out, extremely well made, no rust, functions very well, with key!
