He headed a factory, Sascha Brastoff of California, Inc., in West Los Angeles, from 1953 until about 1973. He died in 1993. Pieces signed with the signature Sascha Brastoff were his work and are the most expensive. Other pieces marked Sascha B. or with a stamped mark were made by others in his company. Brastoff made hand-painted vases, bowls, ashtrays, and figurines with his trademark overglaze gold trim and flamboyant decorations.
