GOLDEN HILLS
A Tale of Ribandism and the Irish Famine

Serialised in 18 weekly issues of THE LEISURE HOUR magazine in 1859

Plot - Set in coastal village west of Ireland in 1846.  There a Protestant land agent and magistrate gets death threat from tenant he is about to evict. Description of security arrangements, terrorism, widespread poverty, emigration to Quebec, arrival of blight, fishing, kelp collection, handicraft production.  Limpets being collected from shoreline and lobsters from sea.

Each part has a finely drawn front page engraved illustration. These illustrations are main value of article showing what people wore, on board emigrant ship, shoreline scavengers and the inside of their homes.

Each of 18 parts is about 3-3½ pages.  In total I am supplying about 60 pages (18 x 3½) of  illustrations/text which are all loose pages and have been carefully cut out of a bound volume.
