The Takeda Retain Intake is a short ram air intake system. In recent testing this intake produced 13 hp and 15 lbs. x ft. of torque on a 2004 Coupe w/automatic transmission. This unique intake design utilizes the front of the stock air box to ensure colder air intake temperature to the filter. Takeda also completed additional testing on cold air intake systems both developed in-house as well as other competitors in the market and found that the cold air intake systems were producing much higher intake temperatures. This was due to insufficient fresh-air flowing through the lower portion of the bumper and trapping the unwanted heat coming from the engine.
Takeda intakes are constructed out of lightweight clear coat anodized tubing for maximum air flow and a great style. Each intake uses a large 360 degree high flow PRO Dry S air filter for maximum flow, filtration and convenience. The PRO Dry S air filter requires no oils and cleans with simple soap and water. This Takeda intake comes complete with all tubing, filters, couplers, 3-angle adaptor, wrinkle black air box cover, and hardware for an easy installation.
Note: This intake does not fit with a circular mass air flow sensor.
