THIS LISTING IS FOR A UNIQUE 19th CENTURY ANTIQUE JAPANESE LACQUER AND GILT MINIATURE TABAKO BON OR TOBACCO BOX.

THIS NICE MINIATURE BOX IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH NO DAMAGE OR REPAIRS. FEATURES A BLACK LACQUERED BODY WITH GILDED FLORAL DECORATION.  HAS THREE FUNCTIONAL PULL OUT DRAWERS WITH GILDED EDGES AND METAL SWING HANDLE AND TWO METAL PIECES FITTED INTO THE TOP.

 MEASURES 2" HIGH, 2 1/4" WIDE AND 1 1/2" DEEP.

THIS NICE MINIATURE TABAKO BON OR TOBACCO BOX WAS USED FOR SMOKING PIPES CALLED KISERU. THE DRAWERS HELD TOBACCO AND THE LARGER TUBE HELD SMALL BURNING COALS WITH A BED OF ASH IN THE BOTTOM SO AS NOT TO BURN THE WOOD AND THE SMALLER ONE HELD WATER FOR KNOCKING THE BURNT TOBACCO INTO.
