Science fairs, including the International, were a huge and central part of my academic life while growing up... and every year one of the biggest events was the regional one in my home town of Louisville. My father, Edward Roberts, was an engineer at General Electric, and he became deeply involved in putting these on, bringing in judges and sponsors, and otherwise becoming the director of the show. He designed this patch sometime in the early '60s, and three of them emerged from the collection of related materials when I shut down the old family home in back in 2005. I would love to see them go to others whose lives were so strongly affected by science fairs... I have kept the one that was sewn to my jacket, but these are new and crisp, a little over 4" across.
