GENE "THE SQUIRE" SARAZEN (1902-1999) - going into the 1922 season, 20-year-old Eugenio Saraceni, was the archetypal unknown. By July he was US Open Champion, the following month he added the US PGA title. In 1932 Gene won the US Open and The British Open and then, in 1935, he won the 2nd ever Masters tournament and became the first player to win all four professional Major championships - "THE GRAND SLAM".

During his career, which began in 1920, this remarkably humble man won no less than 43 times on the PGA TOUR and amassed a staggering SEVEN MAJOR VICTORIES - (1935 Masters, 1922 & 1932 US Open, 1932 British Open, 1922, 1923, 1933 PGA Championship).

GENE' LEGACY IS STUNNING, A TRUE PIONEER OF THE GAME. HE INVENTED THE SAND WEDGE, PLAYED REGULARLY WITH HARRY VARDON, TOOK THE GAME FROM THE EARLY '20S TO THE LATE '90S, FROM WALTER HAGEN TO TIGER WOODS.

Gene was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1974 and to a person, the crowd gathered there that night rose to their feet and applauded for almost five minutes. AWESOME !!!!

FROM MY PRIVATE COLLECTION, HERE IS AN ABSOLUTELY STUNNING AND VERY RARE PHOTO OF AN ARTIST'S PORTRAIT OF GENE IN ACTION, IN HIS PRIME.

THIS WONDERFUL PHOTO ARTWORK HAS BEEN PERSONALLY SIGNED AND DATED BY THIS TRUE LEGEND OF OUR GAME.

The photo is 8-inches by 10-inches.

The photo remains in mint condition.

Gene signed the photo, and dated "1993", in his usual neat & precise style, in black fibre-tip pen.

Gene's signature and dating are permanent.

Gene's signature and dating are perfectly legible, crisp, crystal clear and completely free from any smudges, stains, smears or bleeding.

Gene very kindly signed this photo during a private session at his home in Florida in 1993.

THAT HE LIVED 97 YEARS WAS NO GREAT SURPRISE. THAT HE DIED THAT YOUNG WILL FOREVER PERPLEX THOSE WHO KNEW GENE SARAZEN.

As always - no nonsense - I GUARANTEE THE AUTHENTICITY OF THIS AND EVERY SIGNATURE IN MY COLLECTION FOR LIFE or your money back and I put that in writing too!
