This listing is for a nice antique Chinese Bronze Guan Gong Yu Warrior God Statue, c. 1910-1920.
Republic Period "Guan Yu" was a famous Han Dynasty General and Taoist God of War deified across China and Asia.
The body of the bronze has nice details with wonderful original patina. Chinese symbolic writing is found down the robe of statue. He carries a removeable guan-dao style weapon which is affixed to the end of a long pole in his right hand and makes a symbolic gesture with two fingers pointing upward with his left hand. The piece is in excellent condition with no damage or repairs. Mounted to oval wood base.
Measure 16" high, 7" wide and 4 1/2" deep. The weapon is 13" long.
Weighs 7.12 pounds.
