Some photos for you on the fitting of kit and the mod’s required.
OLD STRAIGHT STYLE FLEXES
Picture 12 (old straight design), this shows the shorter of the 2 flexi’s sitting fully on the end of the cut exhaust ready to be clamped on. (Off side flexi)
As you can see the angle of the exhaust is such that the bolt up end will need to be forced upward far too much to attach.
We now make both flexes at correct angle.
Picture 5 shows the cut ends after the old flexi’s were removed.
Picture 6 shows the old bolt up ends after flexi’s removed.
The modifications we did made installation dead easy!!
On reflection the longer flexi would benefit from a slight angle of say 5 degrees (which we now do) also but the straight version fitted OK.
To summarise the longer flexi was increased in length by 13mm by making the 52 bore clamp end longer.
The shorter flexi had the 52 bore clamp end modified to an angle of between 15-18 degrees making the overall length when measured at the centre line unchanged.
Could I take this opportunity to thank you and your bro’(who suffered me being picky) for your outstanding efforts to get this job spot on.
The finished job is the ’mutts nuts’ and I will ensure that anybody else who needs a similar job knows where to come
Big thanks to John Austin for the photos and fitting instructions for new clamp on design.
