This patten exudes class and style and I remember my dear gran knitting these items! These shawls and stole were originally knitted in Greenwood's Trianon Mohair which is now long discontinued. I could not find out any information regards tho wool, except it was a fine mohair possibly a 2-ply with the two shawls using No.6 needles and the stole No.5 needles. You may wish to try a modern 2-ply or 3-ply mohair in it's place, but work your tension square first and change needles if necessary to obtain the correct tension as stipulated in your pattern. 

Both shawls and the stole are as light as a whisper and will enhance your chosen outfit for any function wether from yesteryear or today, they are simply GORGEOUS! you have a choice of a square shawl with a fringe which measures approx. 60 inches square when completed, or a round shawl approx. 48 inches in diameter. The straight stole is a total bonus of a pattern which measures 56 inches in length and 25 inches in width when pressed. A super pattern in every way and perfect for evening wear, weddings etc.
