This delicately patterned top and shawl is perfect for all year round evening wear or day wear in the summer months, and what is appealing is that of mid length short sleeves with a delicate edging to elegantly hide away the upper arm (if you wish it to be hid that is!) whilst making a feminine fashion statement. A gently rounded neck finishes the design for a top that is so elegant. It is complemented by a matching shawl, in the same design; just perfect! The top comes in four sizes; that is to fit a 32, 34, 36 or 38 inch bust and both items were originally crocheted in Robins 'Moonlight' on a size 3.00 disc crochet hook (tension information below). I could not find out a lot regards this original thread to give a modern substitute except that each ball was approx. 77 yards (70m) in length; 37% lurex and 63% rayon and similar to 'Robin Crochet Courtellle' as in another pattern for a shawl, either thread could be used. However, your local knitting / crochet supply stockist should be able to help to find a compatible thread. Truly two amazing items to make! TENSION:

1 repeat of pattern to measure 1 inch on size 3.00 hook.
