THIS LISTING IS FOR AN UNUSUAL ANTIQUE EDO PERIOD (1615-1868) JAPANESE BRONZE KATANA "HOIGUCHI", SHAKUDO GILT DECORATION, c. PRE-1850. 

THE HOIGUCHI IS A WEDGE SHAPED METAL COLLAR THAT GOES ON THE SCABBORD OF A TRADITIONAL JAPANESE KATANA (SAMURAI SWORD).THIS PIECE HAS A SHAKUDO FINISH WITH GOLD/GILT ACCENTS ON THE RAISED DECORATION AROUND THE SIDES. 

MEASURES 1 1/2" LONG AND 1" WIDE. 

THE CONDITION IS EXCELLENT WITH NO NOTED DAMAGE.
