Another beautiful pattern for baby and certainly one to knit! This five item pattern gives you the totally essential items to complete a baby's romper play set consisting of romper, sweater, socks, hat and shoes. The play set is knitted in 4-ply and offers two different sizes for the knitter to choose from (see below). Regards the wool; this pattern was issued when yarns were becoming standardised, so although vintage in it's own right, you should be okay using a modern 4-ply to replace the vintage 4-ply, but as always, work a tension square to see if a change in needles or ply (to D/K) is necessary. Further measurements and materials to complete this project are set out below and are taken directly from the original pattern.

MATERIALS FOR ALL ITEMS:

4-ply wool (see above regards wool); a pair each of 2¾mm (No.12) and 3¼mm (No.12 needles (No.10)

HAT- No. 3.00mm (11) crochet hook

ROMPERS- Length of elastic & 2 buttons 

SWEATER- 4 buttons

SHOES- 2 press studs 

MEASUREMENTS:

ROMPERS- Length down centre front to top of bib- 13 [14]ins.

SWEATER- Chest - 18 [20]ins.

Length from top of shoulders- 9½ [10½]ins.

Sleeve seam- 6 [7]ins.

HAT- Width round head- 15½ [16½]ins.

TENSION:

On No.3¼mm needles, 28 sts. and 36 rows to 10cm (stocking stitch).
