Five (5) Transparent Silicone Sacs
100% silicone, size 14 (small)

Brand new sacs, size 14 straight (fits barrels up to 14/64" ID, 5.55mm), 2 3/4" long (70mm).  These sacs will fit a wide range of popular lever-filling and button-filling pens, but are especially useful for Sheaffer Snorkel fountain pens.  Silicone's pliability and resilience ensure optimum function with the Sheaffer Touchdown pneumatic-filler system. Note that these sacs are not in fact necked: the thinner part at the mouth end is the mold sprue, intended to be trimmed off.

Silicone sacs will not discolor vintage celluloid, and can be used with the most reactive inks -- inks that can turn conventional latex rubber sacs to goo in a matter of weeks. A silicone sac will easily outlast several conventional sacs. Silicone sacs are best attached with a silicone cement, such as Devcon Silicone Adhesive 12045.

As far as we know, these are the only 100% silicone sacs currently on the market. Other sacs advertised as silicone are not: while they may contain some silicone, testing has shown that they are mostly PVC, otherwise known as vinyl. They are not as durable as pure silicone, and as PVC ages it sweats a plasticizer that will attack celluloid and other cellulosic plastics.  Many PVC sacs are also too stiff to work properly with pneumatic-fillers.

NOTE: Silicone is more permeable than latex to air and water vapor. Ink will dry out more rapidly in an unused pen with a silicone sac, and it is advisable to leave a silicone-sacked pen with its nib elevated when not in use to prevent gradual ink seepage into its feed. Payment

We are glad to combine shipping charges on multiple purchases, but it is vital that the proper checkout method be used. When buying more than one item, use the Add to Cart button -- NOT the Buy It Now button. View your cart when you are ready to complete the purchase, and if the total shipping charge is incorrect, do NOT pay. Instead, click the Request Total link at the top right and we will send you a corrected invoice.

Terms of Sale

We strongly believe in full and explicit description of any condition problems or flaws, and in very conservative grading. We stand behind our descriptions -- buy with confidence.
