Please read the entire description.  This electronic distributor replaces points type distributors used on many forklifts and welders that used the 4-cylinder Continental F-series flathead engine.  

It replaces part numbers IBT-4705, IBT-4706, IDJ-4008, IDJ-4012, D41-05A, and others.  

The shaft extension (distance from the mounting flange to bottom of the shaft collar) is approx 1-1/2” and the distributor turns counterclockwise as viewed from the rotor end.  The drive end of the distributor has a single tang, like a flat screwdriver blade, shown in the second picture.

If your distributor is mounted in the center of the cylinder head, has the same shaft extension, and turns counterclockwise, this one will work as a direct replacement.   It works with any standard 12V can type coil by simply hooking the red and black wires to the coil.  (Negative ground systems only)

Continental used several different types of distributors over the years. You will receive a distributor like shown in the first picture.  Your existing distributor may look like a those shown in the reference pictures but the drive end will be the same.
