Brand New 53-Piece  Metric and U.S. rethreader / chaser set including 19 dies, 32 taps and 1metric & 1 U.S. thread pitch files. The Set is color-coded; Silver are Standard Coarse, Black are SAE Fine, and Gold are Metric.  The thread files allow you to repair many external threads (like spindles, axles, pipe threads, etc..) with a pitch between .75mm - 3mm or 11 TPI - 24 TPI. In many cases they will eliminate the need to buy a large die and that can save a lot of money.  Packaged in a durable plastic case with two latching fasteners. 

All of the components have the size stamped into them and the contents are as follows: 1/4", 5/16", 3/8", 7/16", 1/2", 9/16" UNC and UNF taps and dies, 5/8" UNC and UNF dies, M6x1, M8x1.25, M10x1, M10x1.25, M10x1.5, M11x1.5, M12x1.25, M12x1.5, M12x1.75, M14x1.5 taps and dies, M6x1.25, M7x1, M8x1 dies.

In most situations these will clear away rust and dirt or straighten out threads that have been damaged. The benefits of using these instead of a regular cutting tools are: less expensive, convenient hex drive that will fit in your socket set, fits in most hard to reach areas, won't undercut threads, and they are less brittle.
