This 16-song full-length from those snotty cider-swilling anarchopunks from the South West of England is a punk rock treat from start to finish. Along with their trademark manic take on selected cover versions (UK Subs, Punishment of Luxury, Rudimentary Peni, GG Allin, and even Bloodhound Gang, all receive salutations in both a loving and occasional two-fingered fashion), "Midget Gems", despite the twee title, finds the Loonies a trifle more angry in their middle age, with heavier political undertones than on previous outings, yet maintaining their infectious bounciness, which forever keeps the 'pun' in punk.
