This DVD is part of our Silent Gems Collection; all its films are in the public domain. Only 30% of the Silent Era films survive and virtually all of these have varying degrees of imperfections. We believe that it is better to show to the film lovers a hundred imperfect films now, than to make them wait for decades to see one perfectly restored film.

"Waking Up the Town" is a light comedy starring Jack Pickford, Norma Shearer, Alec B. Francis, Herbert Prior, Claire McDowell and others. When a young inventor fails miserably in trying to impress the local banker it appears that his dreams are doomed forever. Will he get some unexpected help that will put his project back on track?
The film was produced by The Mary Pickford Company. The surviving print is missing some scenes, but this does
not affect the overall continuity from beginning until end.
By the standards of the average silent film "Waking Up the Town" has acceptable quality and is perfectly watchable. The film has done better than 70% that are lost forever.
The movie is accompanied by quality music that greatly enhances the viewing experience. The DVD comes in a slim jewel case and has the cover art exactly as you see it on the photo.
