We are proud to welcome you to The Green Grove Garden. We have been active farmers and plant propagators for a number of years, and we specialized in the production of plant plugs, or basically miniature seedlings, for our on farm use. As such, we learned a great deal about seedling production and also the proper storage, handling and identification of quality seeds through intensive hands on experience. Consequently, we're excited to be able to offer you the finest and freshest seeds available. Here is another of our favorite offerings:

MONEYMAKER SOLANUM LYCOPERSICUM 

* This wonderful heirloom tomato is a classic!  It's an old english classic heirloom that was loved for generations and produces excellent 4-6 ounce fruits.

* Moneymaker is beautiful red, thin skinned and wonderful for just pulling off the vine and eating fresh.  It is the epitome of a delicious tomato.  It has been described as having a meaty, full, rich flavor.

* It'll grow great in humid conditions but doesn't seem too fussy about its growing conditions and will adapt well to most climates and growing environments.

* Most tomatoes that you find today are grown for their shipping abilities to accomodate farmers who have to transport their produce long distances.  That is why heirlooms like Moneymaker have fallen out of favor.  However, if you're a home gardener and don't care about shipping your tomatoes 2000 miles, Moneymaker would be the perfect tomato variety for you!

* This flavorful tomato is becoming a rarity for home gardeners.

* Tomato flowers are very appealing to a number of pollinators and are bee attractants.

* Tomatoes are a great companion plant to grow with basil, mint and french marigolds.  Please be sure to check out our selection of those.

Seeds are packaged in a small poly bag. In an effort to keep costs low, and pass the savings onto you, we do not offer specific planting directions on seed packets. If you cannot locate planting instructions for your specific conditions, contact us and we'll do our best to instruct you on the proper methods.
