SwedenAdvertising Poster StampLifförsäkrings AB Thule , later Thulebolagen , was a Swedish insurance company, founded in 1873, and bought in 1963 by Skandia.
The founder, and later director, was bookseller Per Johan Fagerström. He had been an agent for a French insurance company, and from there he adopted the new system to allow the policyholders to share some of the profits.
From 1888, Sven Palme was its managing director, and he made the company the largest insurance company in the Nordic region by targeting wider population groups, including women.
About 1930, Lif-Thule was transformed into a corporate group in which the life company / parent company acquired three non-life insurance companies, namely Brandförsäkringsaktiebolaget Victoria, the Fire and Accident Insurance Company, Scandinavia and the Fire Insurance Company, Norrland. The group also belonged to the reinsurance company Njord, a subsidiary of Brand-Norrland.
At the turn of 1955/56, Thule discontinued four of the companies, namely Brand-Victoria, Scandinavia, Fenix and Heimdall, where their movements were transferred to Brand-Norrland. Nordisk Yachtassurans was retained as a special insurance company for small-boat insurance and Njord reinsurance company was brought to life by transferring part of the reinsurance business that had been gathered in Brand-Norrland to Njord. Brand-Norrland was renamed Thule (Sak-Thule), a non-life insurance company, and Njord became a hot reinsurance company, Thule (Åter-Thule).
The merger resolved the connection between life and saking, and Liv-Thule became owner of Sak-Thule and Nordisk Yacht while Sak-Thule owned Re-Thule. In the last turn, the suffix was terminated "the companies". Thulebolagen - the name that the corporate group had since 1937 became short and good Thule in 1959. By the end of the 1950s, Thule had grown to the country's largest insurance group.
Thule became the last group of companies to merge with the other S companies and form the Skandia Group. Thule's CEO Alvar Lindencrona said Thule was so big that the company could stand on its own. His strategy was to "merge in depth rather than on breadth", a strategy that did not prove sustainable. After long and intense negotiations, S-company CEO Pehr Gyllenhammar succeeded in 1963 pushing a merger, and Thule was sold to The Skandia Group.

After 35+ years I decided to retire from being an active Cinderella Stamp dealer. Most of my working inventory plus backup stock was sold at public auction. However, I have retained some material that I will be offering for sale. In addition, I have some "new" material that was mixed into lots I have bought for my own collections. I will be listing some of the material in my eBay store at fixed prices.
I will also be offering some material at auction, either as single items or mixed lots. There will be many bargains available. There will be large and small lots, some containing similar material, some containing a random mixture, and some containing only one or a few items. The condition will be mixed, but none of the lots will be just accumulations of damaged or faulty stamps (unless specifically listed as such).
Items in stockpage or larger lots may be removed and repackaged into glassines to save on shipping costs.
A Note about Poster Stamps and Gum: Because many poster stamp collectors are primarily interested in the image on the stamp, the absence or presence of gum on the back is of little concern. If no mention of gum is made, then there may or may not be gum present. If you are only interested in poster stamps with original gum, please inquire before bidding. Actual condition issues (that are not apparent from the scan) WILL be described.
* A Note about "Stock Images": Occasionally I will have more than one example of an item in inventory. Rather than scan each one individually, I may use the same image for multiple examples of the item. If that is the case, the item supplied will be in substantially the same, or better, condition than the image. Any such items will have the words: "STOCK IMAGE" at the end of the description.
