This listing is for a gorgeous S. Kirk & Son REPOUSSE Sterling Silver large berry spoon with beautiful repousse floral design on handle end and deeply chased floral and fruit design on bowl  No monograms. Marked "S. Kirk & Son" and "Sterling" with mark used from 1868-1890. 

Measures 9" long with the bowl end being 3 1/8" wide. Weighs 122 grams. 

 This nice berry spoon is in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws and reflecting minimal signs of wear. The iconic "Repousse" pattern by S. Kirk & Son made its debut in 1828 making it the oldest Sterling Silver pattern produced in the United States where its remained to this day as one of the most popular patterns ever created. To create this pattern, the Philadelphia trained silversmith Samuel Kirk revived an ancient technique known as repousse to create an embossed design that is both versatile and instantly recognized.
