Short description:

The PedalBox allows the user to fine tune the sensitivity of their accelerator pedal to optimise the response time of the engine to pedal digital link. Installation:

The PedalBox box is installed directly into the accelerator pedal module inside the cabin of the vehicle. Unleashed Automotive offers free installation on all our ChipTuning and PedalBox sales. Installation is a very simple exercise. In most vehicles the PedalBox installation doesn’t require any tools. All PedalBoxe’s come pre programmed and have a matching male and female OEM plug to suit your vehicle.

Detailed Description:

• The PedalBox is used to change the accelerator responsiveness and sensitivity via an amplified and tuned input!
• Throttle lag is eliminated but the torque output of your vehicle is not changed.
• Suits both automatic transmission and manual transmission.
• 3 Modes can be selected, City, Sport and Sport plus with in these 3 modes there is another 7 fine tuning points for each mode giving you 21 different user settings in total.
• DTE Systems only delivers the highest quality of products and the PedalBox is no exception the PedalBox has been carefully designed and manufactured. To meet and better the most stringent of German quality control and ISO tests.
• The PedalBox is authorised under Directive 89/336 / EEC (EMC)
• The wiring harness is designed so that it is an extremely straightforward installation. Connection components are very robust and temperature resistant.

PedalBox Programs:

The PedalBox has 3 user modes with 7 fine tuning points within each mode, allowing the driver to calibrate the input to suit conditions and driving styles. The PedalBox can be adjusted to give maximum vehicle economy or max response.

Modes:

Eco Mode:                                                                                                                      

The Eco Mode is recommended for stop-and-go city traffic. It ensures an improved curve in the low speed range and the response is programmed for economic consumption.

Sports Mode:                                                                                                                

Sports Mode is a good all round setting slightly increases throttle response by up to 16% but is not too aggressive and is therefore suitable for most driving conditions.

Sport Plus Mode:                                                                                                             

Sport Plus Mode is recommended for an aggressive driving style. The Sport Plus Mode is ideal for Highway conditions when overtaking is necessary especially when towing. "SPORT PLUS" mode is also great for track days where maximum response from your throttle is required.

OFF Mode:

For heavy driving on extremely slippery road surfaces, caused by ice, snow or rain, the "OFF" mode is recommended.

Installation:

Easy DIY installation (about 10 minutes) with a Plug & Play connector. The module is connected between the accelerator pedal and the original connection plug, enabling damage free untraceable installation.

. 1    Turn off the ignition and wait five minutes. 
. 2   Disconnect the connector from the original plug adapter. 
. 3   Attach the two OEM connectors on the accelerator pedal sensor. 
. 4   Run the cables so that they are permanently installed and do not interfere. 
. 5   Attach the PedalBox control unit at a convenient height for the driver

What is the difference between ChipTuning and PedalBox?

ChipTuning is a performance improvement to the engine management system. The PedalBox only modifies the acceleration characteristics. The PedalBox does not alter the tuning or coding of the engine control system.

Does the PedalBox affect the life of the engine?

No, the pedal box does not affect the engine performance or longevity. The engines life span directly relates back to driving style and regular servicing.
