This listing is for a fully functional BATTERY OPERATED FISHING POLAR BEAR  w/box as shown. This is not a reproduction toy. It is in very good working order. Overall condition is excellent-mint. Mechanism is strong. Tin litho, plastic, fur, straw hat and clothing are very nice & clean. No rust or corrosion. Battery compartment & base are excellent. The 6 correct actions of this toy are as follows: (1) Eyes light up, (2) Right arm drops fishing pole in hole and raises up with a fish, (3) Head moves back and forth 3 or 4 times in approval, (4) Bear starts making a laughing sound, (5) Left arm lifts and removes fish from pole, (6) Electro-magnet in left hand drops fish in basket. (fish slides back into ice hole)  Process is repeated. A very cute toy to watch. All 3 original tin litho fish are included. This is a "MADE IN JAPAN" toy listed in Don Hultzman's book, COLLECTOR'S GUIDE TO BATTERY TOYS, copyright 2002, second edition. It is listed & pictured on page 76. It is a 1950's era toy made by the Alps Co. It has a rarity of 5 on a scale to 10 being the rarest, and a value of $360.00 in C-10 condition without the box. The box is in good-very good condition. It does not have any damage. No missing pieces. Displays very well. Would make a nice addition to any toy collection or a great gift idea for any sportsman, hunter or fisherman. My personal favorites are these fishing toys. Too cool! Other 50's & 60's tin litho wind-up and B.O. toys listed in auction & my EBAY store.
