All aged watches of any brand have problems after some years due to the natural aging of oil and gaskets, that are often invisible to the owner (and therefore unknown...).
F.ex. the oil in the bearings of the wheels-axis of the movements turning wheels is old, (the viscosity of the oil has become thicker due to aging, a sticky film is left over), so the watch is running more or less with "pulled handbrake", so the battery does not last long enough anymore. This is noticeable in the fact that the watch stops at very low temperatures. (...like in a deep freezer) Further, all rubber-gaskets get hard and shrink with age and lose their sealing effect. 
It is not enough to just replace the battery and the bottom-gasket, as all these watches do have another 10 to 16 pieces of o-ring-gaskets in their cases / pushers / crowns and on the depth-sensor.

Does Your watch have 6 little slotted screws on a drop-shaped caseback? Then it is a very old model for which there is no spareparts anymore anywhere since 2007. Don´t even dream about finding someone to repair it or finding spareparts. I´m serious, unfortunately...
