The Kinvara has revolutionised not just the design of Saucony running shoes, but all running shoes. By creating a shoe which enables the foot to move naturally, yet still provide enough cushioning for the runner to use on longer runs.
The Shoe
The magic of the Kinvara 4 begins with its meticulously designed internal shoe construction. It provides a sock-like fit while keeping your feet and tongue (shoe, not mouth) in place. And there's no need to sweat the little things thanks to the HydraMax collar. It keeps feet happy with a comfortable plush feel and its superior sweat-wicking abilities.

FlexFilm:
It's a strong yet flexible material that adapts to your feet and allows for less layers in the upper.

PowerGrid:
The brand-new PowerGrid system combines Powerfoam material with GRID technology to create something greater than the sum of its parts. It centers the foot and absorbs impact so you don’t have to. And here's a fun fact: EVA foam is lighter than rubber. That's why Saucony use it to construct the midsole and the outsole.

This is one of the slickest transitional shoes around for first time Forefoot strikers and for Hard Core racers looking for a shoe that will do the distance. It lends itself to the runner that is looking for an improvement. Highly recommended but get some real advice from a specialist store like ours before you make up your mind. Not everywhere understands the technology in the Saucony Kinvara range especially the Kinvara 4.....this is a winners shoe!!!

This shoe is designed for ALL runners no matter how you choose to footstrike.  The 4mm drop from heel to toe is 8mm less than the average runner you buy off the shelf and I would encourage everyone to make this step towards a more natural footstrike towards the mid  foot as opposed to the heel.  You have no natural shockabsorbing if you land on the heel .  The following advice  along with the movie on youtube.com  will help you toward a more dynamic and injury free, eventually if you persist, running future.  The shoe industry is no more concerned about your well being than the tobacco industry.  Believe me because I have been researching this for many years now and I now run with no cushion or support in Vibram Fivefingers.

Natural off road running can be very beneficial to overall body strengths. The Saucony Kinvara is a 4 mm drop shoe which gets your feet closer to natural than most. The type and thickness of cushioning is a huge advantage when running the road as you get a much more responsive feel to the ground beneath you. BUT it requires a technique which can sometimes be masochistically difficult to learn. I put a movie together a couple of months back and here is a link to it on youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVxY8Wh8I90 If you have any difficulty in viewing then go to google and type in "Back To The Future Of Running" I will come up at the top of the list. The movie concentrates on the desired technique required to achieve successful barefoot/natural running and uses the Vibram Fivefingers for the demonstrations. The technique can be applied to any type of footwear but lends itself best to a zero drop minimal cushioned type which is why the Kinvara works so well when used correctly.

Please be patient if you are new to bare/natural running as your body will take time and injury during its adaptation process. The job you must do is manage the aches in a manner which does not allow them to compound leading to persistant injury. You have to be committed if you want to run like a human using the body to its most effective. I promise if you stay the course, run the correct distance, listen to your body, you will be my best friend forever once the transition is complete...please allow from 6 months to 3 years and remember, some people adapt at a faster rate than others so listen to your body.....you are in control....do not fall into the mass runner market of blaming the footwear for all your mistakes!! You were not born with shoes on , you dysevolved into the use of footwear and now you have to undo a lifetimes work which took you onto the path of dysevolution.
