Alfa AUSBC-5m-3 is a 5m (16 feet) USB 3.0 extension cable. This is designed for use with our USB 3.0 capable USB devices including Alfa AWUS036AC, AWUS036ACH, and AWUS1900. This is also backward compatible with USB 2.0 devices. This has special shielding to insulate against power loss- you will notice out of the package it is quite a bit thicker than standard USB cables.

Why having a USB 3 extension cable is important if you are extending a USB 3 device

USB 2.0 ports and cables limit data speed to a maximum of 480 mbps. This is fine for 802.11n Wi-Fi devices that communicate no faster than 300 mbps. But for today's newer 802.11ac Wi-Fi receivers like Alfa's AWUS1900 USB 3 Wi-Fi USB adapter, which transmits up to 1900 mbps, you need a USB 3.0 compatible extension cable. USB 3 cables allow for data transfer up to 5 Gbps, so you can take advantage of the full speed of your device. If you use a USB 2.0 extension with AWUS1900 instead, your data throughput will be limited to 480 mbps.

AUSBC-5m-3 can be used with any USB 2 or USB 3 device including printers and keyboards. But it is most advisable for use with our high speed USB Wi-Fi receivers from Alfa Network, or other manufacturers such as D-Link and Netgear, to ensure you are getting full speed from your Wi-Fi device. This allows you to place your USB device up to 16 feet away from the computer. If your computer is located away from a window, use this cable to put your Wi-Fi adapter closer to the window for improved reception.

Shipping is fast and free. We use the US Postal Service First Class Mail. Priority Mail 2-3 day service is available at checkout for $4.00 more. Note that the 2-3 day time frame for Priority Mail is an average transit time advertised by USPS and is not a guarantee.

        Return Policy

This item is guaranteed to work for 30 days. We also want customers to be able to return products that they don't want, don't like, or did not mean to buy. Because we incur costs for each return (ebay fees, needing to resell open box items at a much lower price, etc.), we charge a minimal 10% restocking fee on all returned items (new and used), except for products that are defective. As many of our listings include free or discounted shipping options, this also helps cover our original postage expense.

We believe this is a fair policy as many electronic industry web sites charge a 20% restocking fee or do not even allow working items to be returned. You can choose between returning an item for exchange or refund. Please contact us for support if needed- if our support staff cannot get the item working for you, no restocking fee will be applied to your return, even if it ends up not testing defective here. If you return a product without contacting and troubleshooting with us, a restocking fee will be applied if the product tests working upon receipt here. Buyers should contact us for our return mailing address. Shipping and return shipping are not refundable unless we err, such as ship the wrong version of a product. There are no other warranties on this auction, expressed or implied, unless otherwise stated in the description above.
